SUMMARY:MiniBooNE Oscillation Results and the Sterile Neutrino Mystery
\, High Energy Seminar\, Georgia Karagiorgi\, Massachusetts Institute
 of Technology
DESCRIPTION:MiniBooNE is a short-baseline experiment located at Fermil
 ab\, sensitive to muon<br>
\n(anti)neutrino to electron (anti)neutrino
  appearance and muon (anti)neutrino<br>
\ndisappearance oscillations a
 t high $Delta m^2sim$ 1 eV$^2$. These oscillation<br>
\nsearches have
been motivated by the 3.8$sigma$ excess of electron antineutrino<br>
\
nevents in a muon antineutrino beam observed by the LSND experiment in
  1995. In<br>
\nthis talk\, recent antineutrino and updated neutrino o
 scillation results from<br>
\nMiniBooNE will be presented\, and implic
ations for the LSND excess will be<br>
\ndiscussed within the context
 of sterile neutrino oscillation models.<br>
\n
