SUMMARY:Pierre Auger Neutrino Measurement\, NPAC (Nuclear/Particle/Ast
ro/Cosmo) Forum\, Lukas Nellen\, UNAM
DESCRIPTION:The Pierre Auger Observatory is currently the world's larg
est cosmic ray
\nobservatory. The southern site\, in Malarguee\, M
endoza\, Argentia\, covers
\n3000 km^2\, instrumented with more th
an 1600 water Cherenkov detectors and
\n24 fluorescence telescopes
.
\n
\nI will present the status of the Pierre Auger Observato
ry and its recent
\nresults. Even though the obesravtory was desig
ned primarily as a detector
\nfor charged cosmic rays\, was clear
from the beginning that it can also
\nidentify photons and neutrin
os. I will discuss the methods for the
\nidentification of the pri
mary cosmic rays\, with emphasis on neutrino
\ntagging\, and prese
nt the flux limits obtained.
