Scott got his undergraduate degree in physic s from UW-Eau Claire and had originally planned on either teaching hig h-school physics\, or going on to do graduate work that would prepare him for a career in astrophysics. Quickly that plan changed and he en ded up working in software development\, IT management\, project manag ement\, business management\, and eventually teaching adult profession als. Scott received his MBA from UW-Madison is currently the director of project management and process improvement programs for the Wiscon sin School of Business. He also oversees the Technical Leadership\, a joint effort between the College of Engineering and Wisconsin School of Business that was created to help the technical professional succes sfully transition into a successful manager.
