SUMMARY:Supermassive black hole binaries: The Search Continues\, Astro
nomy Colloquium\, Tamara Bogdanovvic\, Georgia Tech
DESCRIPTION:Gravitationally bound supermassive black hole binaries are
thought to be a natural product of galactic mergers and growth of the
large scale structure in the universe. They however remain observatio
nally elusive\, thus raising a question about characteristic observati
onal signatures associated with these systems. In my talk I will discu
ss current theoretical understanding and latest advances made in obser
vational searches for supermassive black hole binaries.
