SUMMARY:Observation of ultracold Cs Rydberg molecules with kiloDebye d
ipole moments\, Atomic Physics Seminar\, Donald Booth\, University of
 Oklahoma
DESCRIPTION:We present results on our Cs ultracold Rydberg atom experi
 ments involv-<br><br>
\ning two classes of ultralong-range Rydberg mol
 ecules known as trilobite&quot\; and<br><br>
\nbutter<br><br>
\ny&quot
\; molecules. These molecules are predicted to have giant\, body-xed<
 br><br>
\npermanent dipole moments on the order of 1000 Debye. The two
  classes of<br><br>
\nmolecules are distinguished by the relative domi
nance of the s-wave and p-wave<br><br>
\nelectron scattering. We prese
 nt spectra for (nS1=2 +6S1=2)3 molecules\, where<br><br>
\nn = 37\, 3
9 and 40\, and measurements of the Stark broadenings of selected<br><b
 r>
\ntrilobite states in Cs due to the application of a constant exter
 nal electric eld.<br><br>
\nAdditionally\, we present measurements of
spectra and Stark splittings for p-<br><br>
\nwave dominated (nS1=2 +
  6S1=2)3 molecules\, where n = 31 and 32.<br><br>
\n
