DESCRIPTION:For demonstration in the lecture I will bring my 17th-cent
 ury Italian harpsichord and tuning lever (this harpsichord weighs only
  40 pounds and has a lovely\, clear sound). I will explain and demonst
 rate how various temperament systems are created (with a wee-bit of th
 e math behind them) and show how different temperaments affect the exp
 ressive possibilities of a piece.
