SUMMARY:Climate change science\, impacts\, and mitigation strategies\,
Chaos & Complex Systems Seminar\, Susan Nossal\, UW Department of Phy
 sics
DESCRIPTION:Deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are required t
o avert catastrophic impacts of climate change. This presentation wil
l briefly overview some of the complexities associated with climate ch
ange science and impacts. One example is the influence on the upper a
tmosphere of increases in greenhouse gases and of the solar cycle\, a
major source of natural variability in this region. The talk will als
o include discussion of climate change mitigation strategies.
