SUMMARY:The Effective Description of Stringy de Sitter\, Theory Semina
r (High Energy/Cosmology)\, Lars Aalsma\, University of Amsterdam
DESCRIPTION:If de Sitter vacua in string theory exist\, they should br
eak supersymmetry spontaneously. In the context of the KKLT constructi
on\, anti-D3-branes are used to break supersymmetry and are claimed to
give rise to metastable de Sitter vacua. In this talk\, I will presen
t recent progress made in understanding how anti-D3-branes break super
symmetry spontaneously and discuss its implications on the effective d
escription of stringy de Sitter space.
