SUMMARY:Signature of a quark-hadron phase transition from g-mode oscil
lations in neutron stars\, Network in Neutrinos\, Nuclear Astrophysics
 \, and Symmetries (N3AS) Seminar\, Prashanth Jaikumar\, California Sta
 te University Long Beach
DESCRIPTION:Neutron stars contain matter at extremely high density and
gravitational waves from neutron stars can help us discover new forms
of matter. I will present my recent work on computing the adiabatic s
ound speed in neutron stars and its application to g-mode oscillations
as a promising signature of a mixed phase. I will also discuss estima
 tes of g-mode damping in neutron/quark matter.<br>
\n
