SUMMARY:Climate Change: Science\, Technology and Policy\, Physics Depa
 rtment Colloquium\, George Crabtree
DESCRIPTION:Climate change is among the most important global challeng
es of the 21st century\, affecting nearly every aspect of society incl
 uding public health\, food production\, supply chains\, inflation\, fi
nancial/economic risk\, human migration and geopolitics. National comp
etitiveness and environmental justice for traditionally underserved co
mmunities are rapidly growing additional concerns. Responses to clima
te change include decarbonization to avoid its worst consequences\, re
silience to minimize its impact and adaptation to accommodate unavoida
ble change. These responses can be implemented through technology\, po
licy and cultural change. Each of these options will be considered and
  put into perspective.
\n
\n
