SUMMARY:Over-Extremal Brane Shells from String Theory\, Theory Seminar
  (High Energy/Cosmology)\, Vincent Van Hemelryck\, Leuven U.
DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will argue that there must exist spherica
l brane shells in 4d that are overcharged\, if the usual phenomenologi
cal compactifications of type IIB string theory with warped throats an
d anti-branes make sense. These shells correspond to classical over-ex
tremal objects but without the usual naked singularities. The objects
are made from D3-particles that puff into spherical 5-branes that stab
ilise at finite radii in 4d and whose inside corresponds to the supers
ymmetric AdS vacuum. We find that these objects can be significantly l
arger than the string scale depending on the details of the warped com
 pactification.
