SUMMARY:Realta Fusion's axisymmetric mirror development program\, Plas
 ma Physics (Physics/ECE/NE 922) Seminar\, Sam Frank\, Realta Fusion
DESCRIPTION:Realta Fusion is a startup spun out from the University of
Wisconsin - Madison aiming to decarbonize industrial heat and power w
ith axisymmetric magnetic mirror fusion power plants. Realta Fusion ac
tively sponsors magnetic mirror research on the Wisconsin HTS Axisymme
tric Mirror (WHAM)\, which had its first plasma in July 2024\, and is
working to develop a tandem mirror fusion pilot plant\, Hammir. In thi
s presentation\, we will discuss Realta Fusion's mirror development ro
admap\, early experimental results from WHAM with comparisons to simul
ations using Realta Fusion's RealTwin modeling framework\, and a numbe
r of aspects of the Hammir tandem mirror pilot plant design.
