- Abstract: Neutral atom arrays constitute a powerful platform for quantum science and technology research, spanning a wide range from fault-tolerant quantum information processing to metrology applications. In this talk, we will discuss the recent demonstration of a continuously-operating atom array system [1] addressing one of the long-standing challenges of the platform – the need for an atom replenishment mechanism compatible with uninterrupted coherent operation. We will begin by giving a short overview of the experiment, and then focus on a particular engineering challenge – designing a control system capable of generating very long, potentially indefinite, continuous pulse sequences. Finally, we will introduce `nistreamer` [2], an open-source package that was originally developed during this effort, but may be valuable for the broader AMO community and beyond. [1] N.-C.
